SQL Architect

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and design scalable database schemas and data models for complex financial systems.
• Lead performance tuning and query optimization efforts to ensure high system responsiveness.
• Develop and implement strategies for database high availability, disaster recovery, and backups.
• Collaborate with application developers to ensure efficient database integration and code quality.
• Manage data migration projects from legacy systems to modern cloud-based data platforms.
• Ensure strict database security through encryption, access controls, and regular audits.
• Establish and enforce organizational standards for SQL coding and documentation.
• Optimize ETL/ELT processes to handle large-scale data ingestion and transformation.
• Monitor database health and troubleshoot complex production issues through root cause analysis.
• Provide technical mentorship to database administrators and backend engineers.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in Database Architecture and Engineering.
• Expert knowledge of SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle; cloud experience (AWS/Azure) is a plus.
• In-depth understanding of data modeling (ERD), indexing strategies, and normalization.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on system scalability.
