A Leading Life Insurance Company is seeking an analytical Statutory Valuation Manager to join its core actuarial management team in Bengaluru. In this critical assistant vice president vertical role, you will lead the actuarial valuation processes and ensure complete compliance with statutory regulatory parameters. Furthermore, you will build and maintain advanced financial models to prepare critical solvency reports and support strategic financial decision-making loops. Consequently, this position is vital for strengthening actuarial governance and supporting the company’s financial resilience.

The Statutory Valuation Manager must combine meticulous mathematical calculation capabilities with deep practical experience handling specialized valuation software. Additionally, you will draft standard operating procedures, interpret complex financial data arrays, and deliver clear technical explanations directly to auditors and regulators. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain Prophet models for technical provisions, Value of New Business (VoNB), and actuarial calculations.
  • Ensure maximum accuracy, robustness, and computational efficiency of actuarial models via regular validation testing.
  • Conduct monthly solvency calculations, analyze capital movements, and deliver actionable insights into capital adequacy.
  • Prepare detailed quarterly Analysis of Surplus reports and complete required statutory forms for regulatory filings.
  • Draft, implement, and maintain comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and actuarial valuation methodologies.
  • Support internal and external auditors during regulatory reviews, providing secure documentation and technical explanations.
  • Contribute to the preparation of Economic Capital calculations and Asset Liability Management (ALM) working profiles.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Risk, and Investment squads to ensure alignment of actuarial outputs with broader business objectives.
  • Mentor junior actuarial personnel, lead knowledge-sharing modules, and prepare reports for Board and senior management review.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a highly quantitative discipline.
  • 3-4 Years of successful professional experience operating within an actuarial valuation or statutory reporting team.
  • Mandatory expert-level technical mastery handling actuarial software with advanced proficiency in DCS and SQL databases.
  • Demonstrated practical experience utilizing Prophet modeling systems and preparing official statutory insurance reports.
  • Superb attention to detail, time management skills, and verbal communication mechanics to present findings to non-technical headers.
  • Beneficial: Active progress toward professional actuarial qualifications from an accredited actuarial institute.
