The SME – Pension Valuation must assist with training and act as a mentor for junior associates within the team. Additionally, you will partner with Team Leaders to manage project timelines and resolve complex technical queries from consultants. Therefore, the company is looking for a professional with at least 4 years of actuarial pension experience. Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed technical review of all work products related to annual funding and expense valuations.
- Reconcile complex client data and assets for qualified and non-qualified post-retirement welfare plans.
- Manage government forms and statements to ensure compliance with US retirement regulations.
- Respond to queries from consultants regarding plan provisions and specific valuation results.
- Partner with the Team Leader on project management, training, and supervision of junior associates.
- Proactively resolve conflicting priorities and workload issues within the actuarial team.
- Build trusted advisor relationships with service center client teams through quality execution.
- Contribute to the development of new actuarial tools and innovative approaches to valuation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance quality and reduce operational costs.
- Serve as a mentor, providing technical guidance and development feedback to analysts.
Requirements and Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in performing and checking core valuation work for large corporate plans.
- Completion of 3 to 5 CT papers from a recognized actuarial professional body.
- Strong knowledge of pension regulations and actuarial valuation concepts.
- Direct experience with funding valuations, accounting expense valuations, and government filings.
- Proven ability to manage workloads in a client-service-oriented environment.
- Excellent technical communication skills for stakeholder management.
