A Leading Professional Services Firm is seeking an analytical Risk & Capital Actuary to join its expanded General Insurance Actuarial & Insurance Management Solutions (AIMS) practice in Mumbai. In this critical consulting role, you will deliver world-class capital modeling and risk advisory services to insurance providers, financial regulators, and private equity platforms. Furthermore, you will take full responsibility for managing and delivering concurrent actuarial projects, serving as a primary point of contact for corporate client accounts. Consequently, this position is essential for steering next-generation risk frameworks across global markets.
The Risk & Capital Actuary must combine a broad understanding of capital modeling platforms with exceptional technical communication traits to present complex data concisely to executive headers. Working within a vibrant global practice, you will develop standardized delivery methodologies and mentor junior actuarial trainees. Key Responsibilities
- Apply advanced actuarial engineering skills to deliver quality risk management advice and consulting services across global client lines.
- Manage and execute a wide range of concurrent capital modeling, risk management, and multidisciplinary consulting assignments.
- Serve as one of the main day-to-day corporate client contacts, developing standard practices and delivery methodologies.
- Supervise, manage, and mentor staff to ensure the highest quality and timely execution of complex actuarial project deliverables.
- Develop new and existing institutional relationships to uncover client needs and generate consulting business opportunities.
- Lead or contribute to internal training programs to expand the practice’s understanding of emerging general insurance trends.
- Design, implement, and validate robust risk and capital models, analyzing underwriting risk dependencies and dependencies.
- Provide technical support across adjacent service offerings including reserving reviews, statutory audits, pricing, and transformation tracks.
- Incorporate emerging insurance concerns into capital models, including Cyber Risk parameters, Climate scenarios, and ESG matrices.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree qualification in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a highly quantitative stream.
- 3-6 Years of professional experience operating within the general insurance market, either inside a carrier or a consultancy setup.
- Proven expertise in capital modeling systems, risk management validation, and managing corporate regulatory relationships.
- Familiarity with Solvency II internal frameworks and capital modeling software platforms such as Igloo, ReMetrica, or Tyche.
- Superb stakeholder management, interpersonal sensitivity, influencing capabilities, and verbal communication skills.
