Key Responsibilities
- Identify and source reliable vendors for engineering parts and raw materials.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings.
- Raise purchase inquiries, analyze quotations, and prepare comparative statements.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials as per production needs.
- Maintain and update the vendor database and perform regular performance evaluations.
- Coordinate with the Quality and Stores teams for material inspection and inwarding.
- Process purchase orders and ensure accurate documentation in the ERP system.
- Liaise with the accounts department for timely vendor payments and reconciliation.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production to avoid stock-outs.
- Stay updated on market trends and pricing for core engineering commodities.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Production Engineering or Business Administration.
- 2–5 years of experience in procurement within an engineering or manufacturing firm.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office (Excel is essential).
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
