Key Responsibilities for the Manager – Reinsurance Administration
- Lead the end-to-end processing and accounting of premium and claims data received from client insurance companies.
- Analyze complex transactions to ensure accurate reporting and error-free month-end subledger postings.
- Conduct regular reviews of pending claims and accrued premium, including detailed ageing analysis.
- Interact directly with insurance companies to ensure timely data submission and resolve quality observations.
- Ensure that retrocession premiums and claims are correctly accounted for and validated in a timely manner.
- Develop and implement technological tools to monitor data quality and strengthen internal financial controls.
- Configure systems for new products and treaties to ensure accurate accounting and long-term sustainability.
- Liaise with IT and Business Analyst teams for system enhancements, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Lead audit engagements for the administration process and track the closure of all audit observations.
- Design and automate reporting templates to meet the specific needs of pricing, actuarial, and BD teams.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Postgraduate in Commerce (Accounting) or Mathematics, or a Degree in Engineering or CA-IPCC level.
- Minimum of 6 years (for postgraduates) or 8 years (for graduates) of experience in financial services.
- At least 2 years of experience at a supervisory level within an Operations or Finance function.
- Direct exposure to insurance and reinsurance administration operations is highly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including knowledge of Macros and automated report generation.
- Basic to intermediate SQL knowledge for data extraction and reporting is considered mandatory.
- Experience managing outsourcing vendors for data entry both on-site and off-site.
Preferred Skills and Certifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or professional degree in Data Analytics or Engineering.
- LOMA certification (Associate or Fellow) or completed papers in Actuarial Science.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other quality management frameworks.
- Technical exposure to data visualization and analytics tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, or Tableau.
- Project management expertise with the ability to handle competing demands and prioritize tasks effectively.
