Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end direct and indirect tax compliance, including GST and Income Tax filings.
  • Develop and maintain a robust internal control framework (ICFR) to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Manage the relationship with tax authorities and represent the company in assessment proceedings.
  • Ensure strict adherence to IRDAI accounting regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Lead the periodic reconciliation of tax accounts and ensure timely payment of liabilities.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure seamless financial and tax audits.
  • Analyze the impact of new tax laws and regulatory changes on the insurance business.
  • Provide expert guidance to business teams on the tax implications of new products and contracts.
  • Oversee the documentation and testing of key financial controls across departments.
  • Identify and mitigate potential tax risks through proactive planning and governance.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) with 6 to 10 years of professional experience.
  • Strong expertise in Direct and Indirect Taxation, specifically in the BFSI sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of ICFR, Ind AS, and IRDAI financial regulations.
  • Proven experience in managing tax audits and regulatory interactions.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail for complex financial governance.
