A leading life insurance company is seeking a strategic Macro Analyst – Front Office to join its Investment team at the Chief Manager level. In this critical role, you will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing both Global and Indian macroeconomic data. Furthermore, you will develop econometric models to forecast vital parameters such as GDP growth and inflation. The Macro Analyst – Front Office must analyze RBI Monetary Policy and evaluate the economic impact of Government policy changes. Additionally, you will build relationships with economists across different industries to facilitate expert knowledge sharing. Therefore, the company is looking for a professional with a Master’s degree in Economics and 3 to 5 years of experience. Key Responsibilities for the Macro Analyst – Front Office
- Monitor and analyze Global and Indian macroeconomic data to identify emerging financial trends.
- Develop statistical and econometric models for forecasting Inflation and GDP Growth on a regular basis.
- Analyze RBI Monetary Policy and its Minutes to provide actionable insights to the Investment team.
- Study the economic impact of changes in Government policies to guide strategic investment decisions.
- Provide daily updates to the Investment team regarding recent developments in macroeconomic data.
- Build and nurture relationships with economists across industries and arrange knowledge-sharing meets.
- Communicate and present economic analysis and views to the Chief Investment Officer and Management.
- Collaborate with the broader team to contextualize economic trends with current market performance.
- Utilize tools like Bloomberg and Refinitiv for deep-dive data extraction and financial analysis.
- Handle any other macroeconomic analysis as and when deemed necessary by the investment function.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Economics is required; a CFA, MBA, or PhD is considered highly advantageous.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience specifically in Economic Research.
- Proven experience in an analytical role within a front-office or investment environment.
- Strong quantitative aptitude with proficiency in data analysis tools and econometric modeling.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Macros is a plus.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex data to stakeholders.
