A Leading Life Insurance Company is seeking an organized Insurance Finance AM at the Assistant Manager level to join its Finance and Accounting department in Bengaluru. In this key accounting position, you will manage daily accounting operations, policyholder payout processing, commission disbursements, and treasury funding support. Furthermore, you will post transactions accurately into the SUN GL accounting platform while reconciling complex suspense accounts and operational ledger balances. The Insurance Finance AM must combine strong practical experience in insurance accounting operations with solid hands-on capability in taxation filings and expense management. Working across Operations, Treasury, and Regulatory teams, you will compute tax remittances (GST, withholding tax), maintain tax litigation trackers, and assist with statutory reporting submissions. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily accounting transactions related to insurance operations and post entries in the SUN GL system.
- Execute monthly commission calculations, pre-payment validation checks, and advisor disbursements within agreed timelines.
- Reconcile operational suspense accounts, investigate accounting exceptions, and resolve open reconciliation items promptly.
- Support monthly operating expense (OPEX) analyses by ensuring accurate classification of expense codes and transaction codes.
- Compute and process tax remittances for GST, withholding tax, and corporate tax while filing mandatory statutory returns.
- Maintain tax documentation, issue withholding tax certificates, and update the corporate tax litigation tracker.
- Consolidate daily funding requirements for claims, policy surrenders, and commissions, coordinating with Treasury before cut-offs.
- Assist in preparing monthly statutory and regulatory reporting packages in compliance with life insurance guidelines.
Requirements and Qualifications
- B.Com, M.Com, MBA in Finance, or an equivalent accounting and financial management qualification.
- 1-3 Years of hands-on experience in accounting and finance operations, preferably within Life Insurance or BFSI.
- Practical experience in Accounts Payable, payment processing, suspense account reconciliations, and treasury funding.
- Hands-on proficiency with ERP/accounting platforms (SUN GL preferred) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Working knowledge of GST regulations, withholding tax compliance, and regulatory reporting standards.
