Key Responsibilities for the Finance Transformation Consultant
- Lead and drive finance transformation initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
- Streamline complex finance processes to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and stakeholder needs.
- Deploy best-in-class ERP solutions, including SAP, Oracle, or Workday, to enhance operational efficiency.
- Design future-ready finance capabilities, focusing on Chart of Accounts and Common Information Models.
- Conduct financial close optimization to improve reporting speed and data accuracy for global clients.
- Develop comprehensive transformation roadmaps and business cases to guide strategic decision-making.
- Integrate “Finance in a Digital World” technologies, such as robotics process automation and predictive analytics.
- Engage with executive stakeholders effectively to drive design consensus and key program decisions.
- Analyze industry-specific finance processes, particularly within Telecom, Life Sciences, and Financial Services.
- Navigate complex global engagements with a go-getter mindset to ensure delivery within strict timelines.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 4 to 8 years or a Master’s degree with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in Finance Operations or Transformation within a consulting environment.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end processes, including Record to Report (R2R) and Order to Cash (O2C).
- Ability to align “out of box” ERP functionality with desired future-state finance capabilities.
- Exceptional proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, with strong storyboarding and presentation skills.
- Exposure to working in non-India geographies, preferably the US, or interacting with global stakeholders.
Core Competencies and Preferred Experience
- Strong functional specialization in at least one major ERP system (SAP, Oracle, Workday, or Dynamics).
- Experience with Agile program delivery and the ability to translate technology into process improvements.
- Analytical mindset capable of defining the benefits of technology solutions and their impact on business.
- Practical experience in FP&A, EPM, or large-scale finance system transformations.
- Exceptional communication skills and executive presence to engage with high-level client leadership.
