Key Responsibilities
- Conduct primary research on assigned sectors to identify attractive investment opportunities.
- Build and maintain detailed three-statement financial models and valuation frameworks (DCF, Relative Valuation).
- Prepare investment memos and reports with clear “Buy/Sell/Hold” recommendations.
- Monitor portfolio companies’ quarterly performance and update investment theses accordingly.
- Liaise with sell-side analysts and participate in corporate earnings calls and management meetings.
- Collaborate with the Fund Manager to refine sector allocation and stock selection strategies.
- Track macroeconomic indicators and regulatory changes that impact specific industries.
- Perform channel checks and visit manufacturing sites or offices to verify business progress.
- Maintain a database of industry-specific metrics and competitive benchmarking data.
- Ensure all research activities comply with internal governance and IRDAI investment regulations.
Requirements and Qualifications
- MBA Finance from a top-tier institute or Chartered Accountant (CA).
- CFA Charterholder or candidate is highly preferred.
- 4 to 7 years of experience in buy-side or sell-side equity research.
- Excellent financial modeling skills and proficiency in Bloomberg or Reuters.
- Strong presentation skills to communicate investment ideas to the Investment Committee.
