Key Responsibilities for the DVP – Individual Pricing
- Develop and implement sophisticated pricing strategies for individual life insurance products.
- Build and maintain robust actuarial models using advanced tools such as Prophet, R, Excel, and VBA.
- Conduct feasibility studies and complex cash-flow projections to support new product ideation.
- Lead the product filing process with IRDAI and respond accurately to all regulatory queries.
- Analyze experience data and assumptions to refine pricing methodologies and enhance accuracy.
- Monitor product profitability (VNB and margins) and recommend timely adjustments or repricing.
- Collaborate with global reinsurers to design optimal treaty structures and support pricing efforts.
- Provide strategic market intelligence reports through rigorous competitive benchmarking.
- Present critical pricing insights and financial recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide junior actuaries to build internal technical capabilities and a culture of innovation.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Mandatory completion of at least 10 Actuarial papers from a recognized professional body.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, specifically in actuarial pricing within Indian life insurance.
- Strong technical command of actuarial software such as Prophet and statistical programming in R.
- Deep understanding of individual life insurance products and their underlying risk frameworks.
- In-depth knowledge of IRDAI regulatory guidelines and the end-to-end product filing process.
