A leading global insurance company is seeking a highly skilled Actuarial Reserving Specialist to join its world-class team. In this pivotal role, you will lead Group Reserve Reviews and provide regional reserving support across the business. Furthermore, you will manage Solvency II technical provisions and drive improvements in large loss and propensity modelling. The Actuarial Reserving Specialist is expected to take full ownership of identifying and developing solutions for complex actuarial problems. Additionally, you will conduct independent peer reviews and prepare critical documentation regarding assumptions and final outputs. Therefore, the company is looking for a professional with at least 4 years of experience in General Insurance and strong analytical capabilities. Key Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive Group Reserve Reviews and provide regional reserving support to diverse business units.
- Oversee Solvency II technical provisions at both the RSA Group and regional levels.
- Manage and refine reserving models, including model selection and trend projections.
- Conduct advanced large loss and propensity modelling to enhance the accuracy of reserving analyses.
- Take ownership of project management, including project scoping, planning, and timely delivery.
- Conduct detailed analysis by applying standard and advanced Actuarial and Statistical techniques.
- Guide and train junior team members on project requirements and technical skill development.
- Validate the appropriateness of applied methodologies and explore new analysis frameworks.
- Prepare comprehensive project documentation and draft high-impact stakeholder presentations.
- Perform independent peer reviews for projects in accordance with global best practices.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a highly quantitative field.
- Minimum of 4+ years of relevant professional experience specifically in General Insurance (GI).
- Proven track record in reserving data management and database preparation for actuarial analysis.
- Experience in liaising with cross-functional reserving actuaries and stakeholders globally.
Technical Skills and Competencies
- Strong analytical and modelling capabilities with a focus on research and complex problem-solving.
- Deep understanding of standard actuarial statistical analysis and trend projection techniques.
- Knowledge of ResQ software is considered an added advantage for this position.
- Ability to develop collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of team goals.

- Exceptional reporting and documentation skills for preparing technical assumptions and outputs.
