In this technical role, you will focus on pricing and rating for major insurance lines, including Commercial Auto, General Liability, and Property. Furthermore, you will gain an in-depth understanding of ISO Commercial Lines Manuals (CLMs) and advanced rating algorithms. The Actuarial Pricing Analyst will collaborate closely with underwriters to provide creative solutions for product changes and complicated pricing approaches. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute pricing and rating strategies for US Commercial lines of insurance.
  • Apply an in-depth understanding of ISO Commercial Lines Manuals (CLMs) and complex rating algorithms.
  • Design pricing mechanisms for Commercial Auto, General Liability, Property, Inland Marine, and Crime.
  • Partner with underwriters to understand product requirements and provide training on pricing approaches.
  • Assist lead actuaries with rate filings, drafting memorandums, and supporting regulatory objections.
  • Maintain and manage SQL databases to support various actuarial and reporting processes.
  • Conduct annual profitability studies to support data-driven pricing decisions and recommendations.
  • Cater to specific data calls and reporting needs required by State Departments of Insurance.
  • Participate in system implementation and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new insurance products.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively to meet global client expectations and rigorous project timelines.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Graduates or post-graduates in a quantitative field such as Actuarial Science or Mathematics.
  • Between 0 to 2 years of experience in the Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance sector.
  • Minimum of 3 to 4 actuarial exams cleared (Preferred – Exam CS2; excluding CB3/CT9).
  • A strong desire to pursue actuarial credentials from the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS).

Technical Skills and Competencies

  • Preferred experience with SQL and VBA for database management and process automation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex rating algorithms and data sets.
  • Familiarity with compliance issues and regulatory requirements for US admitted carriers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting technical actuarial exhibits.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan tasks, organize work, and prioritize based on importance.
  • A proactive team player who keeps colleagues informed about critical work-related activities.
