A leading life insurance company is seeking a highly experienced professional for the Associate General Manager / General Manager – Products position in Mumbai. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end management of product development, launch activities, and ongoing product management. The AGM/GM – Products will ensure that all product-related operations comply with strict regulatory requirements and internal company directions. Additionally, you will coordinate with cross-functional teams to drive the approvals and governance processes for the agreed product calendar. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end launch process for assigned projects to deliver results within the approved calendar.
- Assist the Reporting Manager in developing a product strategy that aligns with business and organizational goals.
- Execute the launch of new products and propositions approved by the PMC for Agency and Bank customer bases.
- Monitor and initiate technical revisions to products based on market trends, regulations, and channel needs.
- Manage the governance process for specific product groups or individual product lines under your supervision.
- Track competition information on an ongoing basis to provide insights for new product development.
- Ensure 100% compliance with IRDA regulations and all other legal requirements linked to product development.
- Coordinate across multiple functions to ensure smooth product development and implementation processes.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education and Experience
- MBA or a degree in Marketing from a reputable university or college.
- A minimum of 10 to 12 years of professional experience in financial services, banking, or insurance.
- Specific background in life insurance product development, actuarial functions, or product marketing.
- Proven track record of managing end-to-end product lifecycles in a highly regulated environment.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong working knowledge of IRDA regulations specifically relevant to Life Insurance products.
- Deep understanding of compliance requirements linked to product management and governance.
- Excellent analytical skills to interpret market data and initiate effective product revisions.
- Advanced persuasion and negotiation skills for managing cross-functional approvals.
- Ability to lead launch processes for diverse customer segments across multiple sales channels.
