Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive buy-side equity research on the automotive sector, including commercial, passenger, and electric vehicles.
- Monitor structural industry indicators, such as consumer EV adoption, commodity pricing shifts, and supply chain timelines.
- Track month-on-month wholesale and retail dealership transaction volumes to publish detailed analytical insights.
- Perform meticulous fundamental analysis of listed entities, evaluating cash flow trends and balance sheet metrics.
- Scrututinize company financial statements, quarterly earnings results, investor decks, and formal management commentary.
- Build, update, and optimize robust valuation models utilizing DCF frameworks and relative valuation calculations.
- Compile detailed research documentation and document key takeaways arising from interactions with company leaders.
- Analyze sell-side brokerage house research materials to balance internal insights against overall market indicators.
- Formulate buy, sell, or hold stock recommendations that align with the company’s long-term risk appetite parameters.
- Deliver clear data visualization summaries and custom presentations directly to the central Investment Committee.
Requirements and Qualifications
- MBA / PGDM in Finance, or a Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or CFA Charterholder.
- Minimum of 5 years of successful professional experience in Equity Research, preferably covering auto ancillary streams.
- Prior background working within asset management companies, buy-side research desks, or insurance investment frameworks.
- Advanced mastery of fundamental financial statement analysis, spreadsheet tracking, and data modeling tools.
- Proficiency with professional market database terminals, including Bloomberg, Capital IQ, or Reuters applications.
