This is an individual contributor role requiring 3-5 years of actuarial experience (not limited to pricing work). We are seeking an enthusiastic learner who can independently conduct experience studies, undertake research, and develop pricing assumptions. The role also involves working on pricing models and general data analytical tasks, requiring basic knowledge of analytical tools such as R and Python.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct experience studies for various lines of business.
- Develop pricing assumptions using research and experience data.
- Ensure pricing outputs adhere to agreed timelines and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Business Development, Underwriting, and Claims, to ensure data used for pricing is accurate and complete.
- Maintain and update complete and accurate pricing documentation.
- Engage in data analytics projects to support and enhance pricing assumptions.
- Support research and analysis activities for product development and broader actuarial projects.
- Draft proposals and treaty documentation.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in actuarial or analytical work within insurance/reinsurance/financial services.
- Passed a minimum of 7 or 9 actuarial exams as per the new curriculum from a recognized Actuarial Institute.
Skills and Abilities
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel, Macros, MS Word, and actuarial/statistical software.
- Knowledge of programming and analytical tools such as Oracle, R, and Python is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage tasks in a dynamic work environment.
