A Leading Life Insurance Company is seeking an accomplished Actuarial Prophet Manager at the Chief Manager level to lead its actuarial modeling division in Mumbai. In this technical leadership position, you will oversee the development, enhancement, and governance of Prophet actuarial models across statutory reporting, EV, RBC, and IFRS 17 frameworks. Furthermore, you will configure end-to-end Data Conversion System (DCS) programs and execute stochastic model simulations. Consequently, this role is vital for ensuring accurate cash flow projections and model integrity.
The Actuarial Prophet Manager must combine advanced actuarial examination progress with deep programming mastery in Prophet, Summary library coding, arrays, and looping structures. Collaborating with Pricing, Reserving, and Finance teams, you will liaise with external peer reviewers and statutory auditors during year-end balance sheet valuations. Therefore, the company is looking for a mentor who trains junior actuaries and optimizes run-time performance effectively. If you want to steer landmark life insurance modeling platforms, this position is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, validation, and maintenance of Prophet models across statutory, US GAAP, EV, and IFRS 17 bases.
- Review, optimize, and maintain complex Data Conversion System (DCS) programs supporting data ingestion into Prophet.
- Design and configure stochastic model runs in Prophet to calculate time value of options and guarantees.
- Evaluate model architecture, resolve run-time inefficiencies, and implement code optimizations to boost calculation speed.
- Maintain model documentation following Model Risk Management standards, detailing assumptions, limitations, and audit trails.
- Liaise with statutory auditors, peer reviewers, and external appraisal consultants during valuation audits.
- Mentor and develop junior team members in product structures, cash flow mechanics, and actuarial analysis.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Graduate or Postgraduate in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Finance with significant actuarial exam progress.
- 6-10 Years of core actuarial modeling experience, primarily within the Indian Life Insurance sector.
- Advanced hands-on expertise in Prophet modeling, DCS setup, arrays, looping functionalities, and Summary library coding.
- Broad functional exposure to Statutory Reserving, Embedded Value (EV), IFRS 17, or Asset-Liability cash flows.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational data structures; familiarity with Python modeling is advantageous.
