Open Banking Lead Engineer

A Leading Financial Technology Firm is seeking a versatile Open Banking Lead Engineer to provide technical leadership across mobile applications and backend microservices. In this hands-on engineering role, you will lead the implementation of secure, resilient open banking journeys, digital wallet features, contact-based payments, and bill splitting workflows. Furthermore, you will translate solution architecture into robust Java/Spring Boot microservices while guiding React Native mobile channel development across Android and iOS. Consequently, this position is vital for delivering reliable digital banking experiences.

The Open Banking Lead Engineer must combine extensive backend distributed systems expertise with a solid understanding of React Native architecture and mobile lifecycles. Operating within an Agile delivery pod, you will enforce engineering quality standards, conduct structured code reviews, and drive automated CI/CD pipeline adoption using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps. Therefore, the organization is looking for a technical lead who manages technical dependencies and mentors engineers proactively. Key Responsibilities

• Provide architectural leadership and hands-on code development across Java/Spring Boot microservices and REST APIs.
• Guide the technical design and integration of React Native mobile channels across Android and iOS platforms.
• Lead the delivery of secure open banking journeys, payment requests, bill splitting capabilities, and digital wallet services.
• Enforce engineering standards, code review protocols, test automation coverage, and technical debt reduction across the pod.
• Own technical estimations, dependency mapping, implementation risk mitigations, and release deployment decisions.
• Lead troubleshooting investigations and root-cause analysis across mobile apps, API gateways, and backend database layers.
• Ensure system implementations meet rigorous standards for security, high availability, caching, latency, and observability.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, Product Owners, UI/UX designers, and DevOps teams to deliver sprint objectives predictably.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or an allied technical branch.
• 8-12 Years of software engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership of enterprise delivery teams.
• Deep hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, distributed microservices, RESTful API design, and system architecture.
• Strong understanding of React Native architecture, mobile lifecycles, authentication, deep linking, and secure storage.
• Familiarity with financial API security (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, mTLS) and banking payments domains.
