A Leading Life Insurance Company is seeking a detailed-oriented Investment Operations Manager to join its Investment Operations team in Mumbai. In this core operations position, you will validate, process, and reconcile daily investment-related transactions and portfolio holdings across enterprise financial systems. Furthermore, you will investigate data discrepancies, maintain accurate transaction logs, and generate daily and monthly Investment MIS reports. Consequently, this role is critical for ensuring data accuracy and compliance across all investment operations.
The Investment Operations Manager must combine strong financial market knowledge with advanced numerical and Microsoft Excel data handling capabilities. Coordinating closely with Investment, Finance, Risk, Operations, and Compliance departments, you will prepare data extracts for regulatory and management reporting. Key Responsibilities
- Process, update, and validate daily investment transactions, security master data, and cash entries in core investment software.
- Validate investment data feeds received from custodians, brokers, and external market sources for completeness.
- Reconcile investment transactions, bank statements, portfolio holdings, and ledger entries across internal records.
- Identify transaction discrepancies, investigate root causes, and coordinate with internal and external teams for swift resolution.
- Prepare and publish daily, monthly, and periodic Investment MIS reports, portfolio summaries, and board-level extracts.
- Coordinate with Investment, Finance, Risk, and Compliance teams to deliver timely data for regulatory filings.
- Support process improvement, system migration, and automated reconciliation initiatives within the investment back office.
Requirements and Qualifications
- MBA or PGDM in Finance, Investment, Banking & Financial Services, or a related quantitative discipline.
- At least 4 years of dedicated experience in investment data processing, investment operations, or fund accounting.
- Solid functional understanding of financial markets, debt and equity instruments, and investment accounting principles.
- Advanced numerical capabilities, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to work accurately with large datasets and meet strict daily operational deadlines.
