A Leading Technology Solutions Firm is seeking a detailed-oriented Payments Business Analyst to support transaction banking and payments modernization initiatives. In this key business analysis position, you will take responsibility for leading requirement elicitation workshops, compiling Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), and defining functional specifications for core payment systems. Furthermore, you will map payment flows across SWIFT, ISO 20022, and SEPA protocols to ensure smooth transaction routing. Consequently, this role is essential for accelerating digital payment transformations.
The Payments Business Analyst must combine deep domain expertise in domestic and cross-border payments with hands-on experience in card systems, digital wallets, and FX engines. Working within fast-paced Agile delivery pods, you will manage product backlogs in Jira, author user stories, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Therefore, the organization is looking for a structured analyst who engages international stakeholders comfortably. Key Responsibilities
- Lead requirement elicitation sessions, stakeholder interviews, and functional workshops for payment transformation programs.
- Author and maintain concise Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), functional specifications, process maps, and user journeys.
- Design detailed use cases, workflow diagrams, wireframes, and Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTM) for engineering teams.
- Manage product backlogs, write Agile user stories with clear acceptance criteria, and prioritize epics using Jira and Confluence.
- Support end-to-end payment integrations across SWIFT, ISO 20022/15022 messaging formats, SEPA, and domestic clearing networks.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to coordinate test planning, defect triage meetings, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Identify project dependencies, track delivery risks, and prepare operational progress reports for steering committees.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields.
- 8+ Years of professional IT experience with a minimum of 2+ years operating as a Business Analyst in Banking or Financial Services.
- Deep functional knowledge of domestic and cross-border payments, SWIFT, ISO 20022, SEPA, digital wallets, and card lifecycles.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Agile methodologies, Jira, Confluence, and requirement documentation frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities, analytical thinking, and executive presentation skills.
