A Leading Global Payment Technology Solutions Provider is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join its Americas IT Infrastructure team. In this hands-on infrastructure role, you will take technical ownership of VMware-to-KVM/CloudStack migration programs and platform operations across enterprise data centers. Furthermore, you will build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code automation using Ansible and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines. Consequently, this role is essential for modernizing hypervisor environments and ensuring continuous platform reliability.
The Senior Systems Engineer must combine deep Linux and Windows Server administration capabilities with practical experience in SAN/NAS enterprise storage systems. Operating within a strict PCI DSS v4.0 compliance framework, you will enforce OS security baselines, mentor junior engineers, and manage Tier-3 infrastructure escalations. Therefore, the company is looking for a proactive problem-solver who troubleshoots complex virtualization and storage performance issues independently. If you want to direct landmark virtualization migration workflows, this position is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of KVM/libvirt hypervisors across multi-zone enterprise data centers.
- Drive end-to-end VMware-to-KVM/CloudStack migrations, including VM conversions, storage migrations, and cutover coordination.
- Administer CloudStack zones, host clusters, system templates, and primary/secondary storage pools at enterprise scale.
- Author and maintain modular Ansible playbooks for automated server provisioning, configuration management, and patching.
- Build and manage Jenkins CI/CD automation pipelines for Git-based Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) workflows.
- Administer RHEL, Rocky, Ubuntu Linux, and Windows Server systems, enforcing PCI DSS v4.0 security hardening baselines.
- Manage SAN and NAS storage environments, including Pure Storage FlashArray, Dell EMC VMAX, LUN provisioning, and FC/iSCSI zoning.
- Serve as Tier-3 escalation support for operating systems and participate in rotational senior on-call duties.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ Years of experience in enterprise systems engineering, with 4+ years dedicated to production KVM/libvirt hypervisors.
- Advanced administration mastery across enterprise Linux distributions (RHEL, Rocky, CentOS) and Windows Server environments.
- Proven hands-on experience authoring Ansible playbooks, Jenkins CI/CD automation pipelines, and Bash/Python scripts.
- Demonstrated expertise in SAN/NAS storage management (Pure Storage, Dell EMC), CloudStack/OpenStack, and PCI DSS compliance.
