A Leading Banking & Financial Services Group is seeking a detailed-oriented IFRS9 Audit Manager at the Manager or Senior Manager level to lead credit risk and quantitative model audit engagements across India. In this high-impact assurance role, you will conduct comprehensive audits of IFRS 9 quantitative models, methodologies, and classification processes. Furthermore, you will utilize SAS to perform independent model validations, recalculate Expected Credit Loss (ECL) numbers, and assess provisioning adequacy. Consequently, this position is essential for safeguarding model governance and regulatory compliance.
The IFRS9 Audit Manager must combine strong technical validation skills in credit risk modeling with practical expertise in internal audit standards and accounting frameworks. Collaborating closely with senior risk modeling, finance, and compliance headers, you will evaluate credit portfolios for completeness, identify methodology gaps, and formulate actionable audit recommendations. Therefore, the organization is looking for an authoritative auditor who authors clear, executive-level audit findings. If you want to steer quantitative credit risk audit reviews, this position is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute rigorous internal audits of IFRS 9 impairment models, methodologies, and staging classification processes.
- Perform independent model reviews and quantitative validation of Expected Credit Loss (ECL), PD, LGD, and EAD metrics.
- Utilize SAS for large-scale data extraction, portfolio sampling, methodology stress testing, and audit validation scripts.
- Evaluate retail and wholesale credit portfolios for data completeness, valuation accuracy, and statutory compliance.
- Author detailed audit reports, articulate control deficiencies clearly, and propose corrective action plans to leadership.
- Partner with model development, risk governance, finance, and external audit teams to strengthen risk control frameworks.
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory audit mandates, accounting standards, and internal risk policies.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- 4+ Years of dedicated experience in IFRS 9 model auditing, credit risk model validation, or risk assurance.
- Hands-on programming capability in SAS for model replication, data analytics, and audit testing.
- Deep functional understanding of credit risk models, ECL calculation mechanics, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Preferred credentials: Chartered Accountant (CA), FRM, CFA, or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
