Non-Functional Test Engineer

A Leading Banking Services Group is seeking an analytical Non-Functional Test Engineer to drive software quality and platform reliability. In this technical validation position, you will take absolute responsibility for executing non-functional test strategies covering performance, resilience, security, and usability. Furthermore, you will write automated test-as-code scripts and integrate quality gates directly into CI/CD delivery pipelines. Consequently, this role is critical for ensuring the scalability and audit readiness of core banking systems.

The Non-Functional Test Engineer must combine deep banking domain insights with a broad understanding of system architectures, databases, and web security. Working closely with architects and developers, you will perform root cause analysis on system bottlenecks using distributed tracing, server logs, and metrics. Therefore, the group is looking for an engineering-minded specialist who documents test evidence in Jira Xray and manages regulatory compliance standards comfortably. Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute comprehensive NFR test strategies across load, stress, capacity, resilience, and security parameters.
• Automate non-functional testing checks using Java or TypeScript and integrate threshold gates into CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform fault-injection testing, resilience validation, and security analysis based on OWASP Top 10 standards.
• Evaluate system operability, logging completeness, alerting mechanisms, and Service Level Indicators (SLI/SLO).
• Conduct root cause analysis for performance bottlenecks using system metrics, server logs, and distributed traces.
• Document test specifications, execution runs, and verification evidence in Jira (Xray) for audit traceability.
• Collaborate with banking architects and product owners to establish measurable non-functional acceptance criteria.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related streams.
• 3-6 Years of core experience in Non-Functional Testing, Performance Engineering, or Quality Engineering.
• Solid understanding of core banking domain processes, client/server interactions, APIs, databases, and IAM.
• Mandatory automation programming capability in Java or TypeScript for building test harnesses and utilities.
• Familiarity with performance tools (K6, JMeter), observability stacks (Grafana, Dynatrace), and regulatory standards.
