A Leading Life Insurance Company is seeking a dedicated Business Continuity Manager to support its Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) practice in Mumbai. In this operational resilience role, you will take responsibility for maintaining and enhancing the BCMS framework in strict alignment with ISO 22301:2019 and regulatory mandates. Furthermore, you will coordinate business continuity activities across Head Office departments and Regional Offices to ensure operational readiness during disruptive events. Consequently, this position is vital for protecting corporate assets and maintaining business stability.
The Business Continuity Manager must combine technical expertise in Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Disaster Recovery with strong facilitation and audit support capabilities. Working closely with cross-functional regional coordinators and technology teams, you will update BCP documentation, organize tabletop exercises, and monitor major BCMS-related risk metrics. Therefore, the organization is looking for a structured professional who drives employee awareness campaigns and manages regulatory BCP expectations comfortably. Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the BCMS in compliance with ISO 22301:2019 standards.
- Maintain and publish revised BCM policies, manuals, Emergency Response Plans (ERP), and BCP documentation across Head Office and regions.
- Coordinate with regional teams to complete Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and critical vendor business continuity assessments.
- Organize and execute BCP testing for critical departments including Investment, Finance, and Actuarial, ensuring BCP room readiness.
- Facilitate tabletop exercises, emergency notification tests, and crisis management drills to validate operational readiness.
- Track test plans, gather regional test reports, and coordinate non-conformity (NC) closures resulting from internal and external audits.
- Update the Operational Risk Management System (ORMS) application with BCMS changes, conducting functional validation testing.
- Consolidate BCM internal audit checklists, prepare major risk MIS dashboards, and assign actionable items to regional offices.
- Drive organizational risk awareness by producing fortnightly risk snippets, administering Risk Awareness Day events, and collating campaign metrics.
- Fulfill regulatory requirements related to business continuity, including IRDAI-mandated Investment BCP guidelines.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
- At least 2-3 years of dedicated experience in Business Continuity Management, preferably within the BFSI or Insurance sector.
- Hands-on expertise in Business Impact Analysis (BIA), Risk Assessment, Crisis Management, Disaster Recovery, and Tabletop Exercises.
- Strong understanding of ISO 22301:2019 requirements, IRDAI BCM guidelines, and audit compliance procedures.
- Beneficial certifications: ISO 22301 Lead Implementer/Auditor, CBCI, or MBCI credentials from the Business Continuity Institute.
