A Leading Life Insurance Company is seeking a highly skilled AVP – Actuarial Modelling to join its actuarial leadership vertical in Gurugram. Reporting directly to the Appointed Actuary, you will assume absolute responsibility for leading the design, build, and maintenance of enterprise-scale models on Prophet. Furthermore, you will drive code robustness and ensure total model alignment across pricing, embedded value, and statutory reporting requirements. The AVP – Actuarial Modelling must combine deep hands-on Prophet coding mastery with a disciplined approach to version control change management. Partnering directly with Finance, Investor Relations, and corporate compliance teams, you will convert mathematical logic into structured insights that support board-level disclosures. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and oversee Prophet model development frameworks for new insurance product launches and financial reporting cycles.
  • Direct the actuarial modeling team on complex product coding setups, assumption configurations, and model office testing tracks.
  • Review and provide official sign-off on Prophet models, specialized libraries, and advanced Extra codes across all lines.
  • Govern the model change management workflow, ensuring rigorous version tracking and technical change documentation logs.
  • Evaluate sensitivity analyses, macro stress testing, and scenario code runs to support core corporate pricing decisions.
  • Profile and optimize Prophet run efficiencies, driving performance tuning initiatives across the actuarial landscape.
  • Support statutory and internal audit frameworks by reviewing model walkthroughs, data lineage tracking, and audit query responses.
  • Review model outputs feeding into shareholder financial reporting, tracking embedded value, IFRS, and statutory disclosures.
  • Partner with Finance and IT to manage data architecture integrations and provide insights on board-level reporting metrics.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a highly quantitative stream.
  • Professional status as a Fellow Actuary is preferred; candidates who are 1-2 papers short of Fellowship will also be considered.
  • 10+ Years of relevant experience in life insurance actuarial modelling, with expert hands-on mastery in Prophet (coding and testing).
  • Deep structural understanding of embedded value frameworks, regulatory compliance rules, and statutory disclosure codes.
  • Superb technical documentation capabilities, high analytical precision, problem-solving depth, and relationship building traits.
