The Insurance Specialist must possess extensive hands-on developer background inside specialized legacy and modern insurance applications. Additionally, you will coordinate across cross-functional blocks, including Actuarial, Finance, and Product teams, to lead technical impact analysis and structural code reviews. Therefore, the company is looking for a software engineer with an intricate understanding of life insurance setups and SMART400 frameworks. Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple concurrent application software projects involving core insurance platforms and peripheral IT models.
- Liaise directly with technical consultants and system users to translate requirements into structured functional specifications.
- Coordinate and develop core technical enhancements, including comprehensive impact analysis and code review check-ins.
- Set up robust application technical architectures and map structural data streams across business platforms.
- Partner with cross-functional units such as actuarial, finance, and business solutions to ensure seamless implementation.
- Provide innovative process optimization suggestions to maximize application usage and reduce transaction errors.
- Serve as the definitive second-level technical escalation point for code bugs, system errors, and enhancement tracking requests.
- Oversee the end-to-end product delivery lifecycle for core Life Asia applications and platform configurations.
- Execute high-volume database reporting activities, extracting and manipulating complex tables using advanced SQL queries.
- Maintain up-to-date domain knowledge regarding life insurance product design, accounting criteria, and setup parameters.
Requirements and Qualifications
- B.Tech or B.E. degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant technical disciplines.
- 5 – 8 years of total professional experience within a software engineering or application support environment.
- Mandatory minimum of 3 – 4 years of direct development experience operating within a Life Asia platform framework.
- Expert practical command over SMART400 systems, Business Objects, COBOL programming, and SQL database querying.
- Comprehensive domain knowledge of Life Insurance business logic and product configuration setups is mandatory.
