Required Experience: 5–7 Years

Location: Commodity Tech Consultant

Date published: 13 June 2026

A Leading Global Consultancy is seeking an analytical Commodity Tech Consultant to join its energy and trading risk practice. In this strategic client-facing role, you will partner with domestic and global commodity clients to evaluate trading, risk management, and operational frameworks. Furthermore, you will take responsibility for reviewing end-to-end trade lifecycles and identifying application integration gaps across core front-, middle-, and back-office processes. Consequently, this position is crucial for optimizing commercial performance and implementing digital transformation initiatives across complex enterprise landscapes.

The Commodity Tech Consultant must demonstrate extensive business analysis depth across leading CTRM and ETRM software platforms. Additionally, you will coordinate with business and engineering units to leverage modern cloud data warehouses and deploy automated AI tools for trade surveillance or predictive alerts. Therefore, the consultancy is looking for a structured problem-solver with a strong background in energy, metals, or power markets. If you want to steer advanced technological enablement tracks, this role offers an elite professional tier.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with global commodity entities to assess operational trading setups and deliver tailored risk mitigation solutions.
  • Provide specialized advisory services across physical and financial trading, exposure management, and accounting settlements.
  • Review CTRM and ETRM system capabilities to uncover structural configuration gaps and platform integration issues.
  • Support system implementation tracks by driving requirement gathering, process mapping, and detailed BRD or FRD development.
  • Facilitate interactive workshops, requirements clinics, and design discussions to align business, vendor, and technology units.
  • Manage project workstreams, tracking execution timelines, delivery quality, risk metrics, and multi-tier stakeholder expectations.
  • Oversee broader digital solution initiatives beyond core trading systems, including reporting applications and business dashboards.
  • Collaborate on technical enablement programs using modern programming tools, including Python, C++, and SQL databases.
  • Leverage AI tools and automated machine learning use cases to build anomaly detection systems and intelligent reconciliations.
  • Formulate structured technical documentation, migration runbooks, and comprehensive User Acceptance Testing plans.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a highly quantitative science discipline.
  • 5 – 7 years of experience in CTRM or ETRM system implementation, business analysis, or core software transformation programs.
  • Deep understanding of commodity industry dynamics, pricing mechanics, hedging models, and trading strategies.
  • Strong functional working knowledge of premier trading platforms such as Endur, Aspect, RightAngle, Allegro, or Eka.
  • Hands-on familiarity with data warehouse environments, Databricks, or cloud platforms like AWS is highly preferred.
