Key Responsibilities for the Actuarial Valuation Manager
- Lead the actuarial reserving process across multiple bases, including statutory and realistic frameworks.
- Develop and maintain complex actuarial models for reserving, experience analysis, and cash flow forecasting.
- Create additional models for ALM, Economic Capital, Risk-Based Capital, and IFRS 17 implementation.
- Manage regulatory reporting including the preparation of statutory forms and detailed reports.
- Implement a robust doer/checker process for the review of all actuarial model outputs.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation, including technical reports, analyses, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Provide essential actuarial inputs to the product development process to help refine and design offerings.
- Support business development by working across multiple functions to analyze varied organizational requirements.
- Foster meaningful relationships with stakeholders in IT, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Risk departments.
- Mentor team members and lead professional development training to build a high-performing actuarial unit.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Qualified Actuary from a recognized body such as IAI, IFOA (UK), or SOA is required.
- Minimum of 7 to 8 years of relevant professional experience within the actuarial domain.
- Strong background in valuation or shareholder reporting is preferred for this leadership position.
- Proficiency in using spreadsheets and specialist software such as SQL, Python, or R for data analysis.
- Deep understanding of relevant regulatory guidelines and statutory reporting standards.
- Excellent communication, report writing, and presentation skills for effective stakeholder management.
