Key Responsibilities for the Data Analyst – Reinsurance Operations

• Process premium and claims data while ensuring strict validation against treaty requirements and pricing parameters.
• Configure system parameters for new products, treaties, and clients to ensure accurate accounting and reporting.
• Perform detailed data quality checks and trend assessments before processing to monitor business expectations.
• Interact regularly with clients to discuss premium rates and data quality observations to drive improvements.
• Conduct inforce checks and duplicate claim validations for all incoming reinsurance claims data.
• Develop automated tools and internal controls to monitor data quality and reduce manual processing time.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation that maps client data to common formats across administration systems.
• Design and automate functional reporting templates and Power BI dashboards for various stakeholders.
• Collaborate with IT and Business Analyst teams for system enhancements, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Support the Manager of Reinsurance with SOX process controls and various regulatory compliance requirements.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Software Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 to 7 years of professional work experience within the Life Insurance industry.
• Strong preference for candidates with direct experience in Reinsurance operations and administration.
• Proven expertise in SQL or PL/SQL for managing and querying large relational databases.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including scripting, validation, and complex automation.
• Demonstrated interest in business process automation and Visual Basic (VBA) Macro development.
